Some good memories of Belle....

Belle was such a sweetie. She seemed to love car rides more than life itself. She held a similar opinion on naps.

Insulation

The outer walls in the kitchen and addition have been insulated. The rooms will be drywalled later this week.

The one remaining outside chimney was in pretty bad shape. We had it repaired and capped this past weekend.

Weather - Rain

The central Kentucky area has been in a drought for the past month or so. Everyone that wanted rain can thank us because it didn't start raining until after we had half of the old roof removed. We got around three inches of rain last night and it's supposed to rain off and on all day. The open areas of the roof are covered with tarps but some water leaked into the attic. Luckily it wasn't enough to be a major concern. Hopefully they'll be able to remove the remaining old shingles and get everything dried in by the end of the weekend.

Plumbing

The plumbing has been roughed in and inspected.

New Roof

After some thought and a check of the budget we decided to have the old roof replaced. There are four or five layers of asphalt shingles on top of the original cedar shingles. All of it is being torn off and replaced.
