Lights & Switches

The electrician installed the hallway light fixtures and some of the old-fashion pushbutton switches.

New Roof - Part 3

The copper box gutters and roof shingling has been completed on the back half of the house. The roofers have moved their staging to the front corner on the east side of the house. Hopefully it won't take too long to finish the rest of the roof.

Master Bathroom Tile

This past weekend we tiled the master bathroom floor. It was a lot of work but it turned out pretty good. We'll grout it this coming weekend.

It's been just a little over a month since we lost Belle. Things just aren't the same without her. We miss her so.

Above are the two front bedrooms, box gutters, new front door, kitchen floor, and upstairs guest bath floor.

Grout, Roof & Paint

If we had a decent wi-fi connection, we would post some pictures of our progress over the past couple of weekends. But, we don't. So, you'll have to use your imagination for the time being.

The kitchen, back hall and laundry room have been tiled and grouted. Grouting is hard on the knees, back, arms, etc. Too much bending and crawling on the floor. With the first floor done, a large part of the tiling is complete.

We have begun painting the front two bedrooms. The small bedroom was originally a color called "Island Blue." It ended up being more purple than blue (you won't be able to tell this from the pictures). We decided to go with a lighter shade. The big front room is a rose color. We got that one right on the first try.

The roofers have shingled the back of the house and are working on the copper box gutters.

Lastly, a new cat has arrived in the neighborhood. She's a marmelade cat that looks kind of like Morris. The neighbors have been calling her Sammy, and she answers to it. Very sweet.

During the past week we finished painting and tiling the kitchen and back entrance hallway. The tile just needs to be grouted.

We've spent the last several weeks priming and painting the kitchen and addition. We've still got a lot left to do.





This past weekend we started laying tile in the back entrance hall, laundry, and half bath. We'll grout it one night this week. We've got the kitchen and two bathrooms left to do.

Some good memories of Belle....

Belle was such a sweetie. She seemed to love car rides more than life itself. She held a similar opinion on naps.

Thanks for coming into our lives and being such a wonderful, kind and gentle creature. We love you and miss you more than words, barks or meows can say. We'll see you down the road sweet girl, but until then, you will live on in our hearts and memories.
